What are you going to do?
As a metalworker, you will be responsible for setting up drilling machines and performing drilling and tapping work. You will work with various materials, technical drawings and ensure that each workpiece is accurate to perfection. These are your main tasks:
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings with dimensions, tolerances and specifications.
- Setting up drilling machines, including speed and cutting parameters depending on material and drill size.
- Drilling holes according to specifications, including marking and centring the drilling position.
- Tapping threads, using both hand tapping and machine tapping.
- Performing quality control with measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Maintaining machines and tools, including grinding drilling tips.
- Ensuring a safe and tidy working environment.
